Around 2021, Airsoft Innovations debuted 2 prototype airsoft shotguns, the FLAK-5 and the FLAK-10. These are gas-powered, semi-auto airsoft shotguns that take M4 / AR15 style AEG magazines and fire a burst of either 5 or 10 rounds depending on which FLAK shotgun you decided to get from then. It was super promising until Airsoft Innovations went bankrupt and shut its doors in 2022, leaving us all baffled and only a handful of FLAKs are in circulation around the world after their untimely shutdown. Soon after, everyone has been wondering if another airsoft company would take the mantle of recreating this cool concept.

Enter the G&G ESB B-10 gas airsoft shotgun, which stands for Evolution ShotGun Bullpup-10. With this release, G&G has given us airsofters what we want and more. The ESB is a gas-powered, semi-automatic shotgun that takes M4 / AR15 magazines like the Flak series, but you can select either 5 or 10 shots per trigger pull using the M4 / AR-15 Style fire selector instead of having to purchase two almost identical airsoft guns to get the same effect. Since this is a real airsoft shotgun, don't expect it to be able to snipe your foes 50 meters away, this is a CQB-only airsoft weapon as the spread pattern is quite significant on this airsoft shotgun especially on the 10-shot setting, allowing you to potentially clear rooms with just one shot.

Before the ESB or FLAK became a thing, the Tokyo Marui M870 gas airsoft pump action shotgun was a staple for skirmish-able airsoft shotguns, so much so, that many other airsoft companies copied the system, some of the bigger names were JAG Precision and VFC. This system was revolutionary at the time, allowing you to fire either 3 or 6 rounds per shot, the pump action allows for slam firing and each shell takes 30 BBs there were also aftermarket mods that allowed the M870 to take regular M4 / AR-15 style magazines. Now the ESB fires in semi-auto, fires 5 or 10 shots per trigger pull, and already takes M4 / AR15 style AEG magazines out of the box, in the box a 105-round magazine is included, and G&G claims that with a full tank of gas, they can clear 6-7 105 round magazines before the gas reservoir in the gun runs dry which is impressive, and allows users to run even high-capacity drum magazines.

The G&G ESB B-10 is a bullpup design and it is also quite modular as the ESB has a monolithic Picatinny top rail and a Picatinny bottom rail while there are M-LOK slots on the 3 and 6 O'clock positions. All the controls on the ESB are ambidextrous, even the QD sling mounts are available on both sides of this airsoft shotgun. What is cool is that by removing the outer barrel and the handguard, you will find a 14mm CCW threaded outer barrel that allows you to add any regular tracer unit making this airsoft gun overall more versatile.

Finally, if an asking price of nearly half of AI's FLAK series, this is the semi-auto airsoft shotgun you need.
